Quicksilver characters re-design

It's fun sometimes to go back and re-draw a character you designed... when you go back to something you haven't worked on for a while, you'll have new insight into the ideas you had for the character.  Here are the 4 main characters for a game I worked on quite a while ago, Quicksilver: Infinite Story.

Leowin more or less looks the same though hehe... Here's what the artwork I made for the game looked like:

Oh how far I've come. xD

I'm a waterbender

I like firebending the most but all the tests have me as a waterbender... so here's me as a waterbender :)

Also, my boyfriend as an airbender hehe; I think there would be airbenders around that are not living at the temples, right?

Red Engine Character Design Class Fall 2011

I totally forgot about these! Last fall I took character design at Red Engine Studios (in shady, shady LA) and these were some of the works I did. I learned a lot of digital painting techniques in that class!

Elf and dragon

Illustration-type stuff. Recently, I've been painting in black and white and then throwing a Color layer over that to figure out my overall color scheme. Then I make another layer and fix up any other issues. This method really helps me figure out lighting before I start getting confused by color and I also feel a lot more organized in general. I picked up this method at Red Engine Studios~

Disney Summer Art Associate Portfolio

Just spent a weekend getting this portfolio together... I got far less work done than I expected/wanted but I'm done at least. I usually don't watermark, but I'm feeling a little paranoid...

I initially applied for just Vis Dev Character Design but added Story Artist at the last minute for the heck of it. Crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!

Character designs for Omega

Turnarounds for a game character named Omega. The developer requested a heavily anime-inspired style. She's also supposed to be a combination of Mihoshi from Tenchi Muyo and Ryofu from Ikkitousen, if you guys happen to know who those characters are...
